Ascend
This is the story of Gary
After years and years of work, he’s finally done it. He wipes sweat off of his forehead, as he looks amazed at his creation: a fully functional Marvel Iron-Man suit. Being a longtime Marvel fan, Gary knows this will just break headlines all over the world with his glorious creation. It’s been a project in the works since 2007, when he first saw the Iron Man movie. The date now is May 2nd, 2019. The all encompassing Avengers Endgame will release in 2 days, and he finally has a suit to go to the theater in.
May 4th finally arrives, and Gary finally puts his plan into action. He’s gonna fly his suit all the way to the movies and all the way back. Gary makes some physical preparations before leaving his garage desk. “Dude, this is so sweet!” Says Jordan, a close friend of Gary’s who gets the glorious honor of seeing it in person before anyone else. “She’s a beaut’ isn’t she?” “Man, this doesn’t even feel real! Are you gonna put it on?” Gary smirks. He finally gets his chance. “Put it on? Check this out!” Gary presses a button on his computer, and turns around. Each suit peice starts moving. His nano bots are doing their magic, and Jordan is absolutely amazed.
The suit pieces start swarming Jordan in 2 seconds flat. What? This wasn’t supposed to happen. Gary puts an expression of panic on his face. They all collectively clamp onto Jordan’s body in an instant. Backwards. Jordan is in absolute agony right now. His flesh is powerless to the force of cold hard metal and steel. As the suit starts levitating with its leg thrusters, Jordan’s legs are being absolutely burned to a crisp. Jordan doesn’t even comprehend what’s happening. He can’t even see, his helmet eyes are in the back of his head. His legs, arms, and torso are totally broken. Jordan already can’t walk again, but he will live if he gets out right now. Gary is frantically pressing buttons on his computer, trying to shut down the system to get Jordan out.
At this moment, the suit blasts out of Gary’s garage. It’s so fast, Gary doesn’t even realize it left until his program said the suit was out of range. Right now, the suit is flying aimlessly into the sky, or so it’s what it seems. Jordan can’t breathe, his lungs have been crushed and the wind in his body has been completely exasperated. It’s only know when Gary realizes: it’s not flying aimlessly, it’s going on it’s set trajectory. Straight to the movie theater. Jordan is panicking and crying out in pain for no one to hear. Gary is shaking on his knees, getting for this not to happen.
At this moment, Jorden connects with the Fairfax, California AMC Theater at approximately 180 miles per hour without attempt of stopping. The suit would explode into a fiery explosion, that would kill over 80 people. They were all watching Endgame, or waiting in line for it. The explosion actually ruptured a gas pipe, causing calamity across the county. Gary is distraught, as he sees the explosions of other houses in the distance. They’re rapidly creeping up to him. Gary doesn’t even care, he’s to ridden in shock of the guilt of his close friend’s death. Jordan’s body would only be able to be identified by dental records. Gary will never even be found amidst the rubble of his house and the fire surrounding it.
